Over twenty years ago as a young lawyer, Mimi was eager to learn from top DWI lawyers in the country. So, she started throwing DWI seminars. Her company, Cowtown CLE, hosted for 2 years straight, the largest attended DWI seminar in the state of Texas. When the state organization for defense lawyers, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, took notice she relinquished her seminars so that the state group could benefit. Since then, she has been speaking and directing DWI seminars both statewide and nationally for nonprofit groups to educate lawyers. See below for some of her most recent teaching moments.
Pictured above are the four course directors for the 26th annual Mastering Scientific Evidence Seminar held in April of 2019. Many consider this seminar to be the premier scientific DWI seminar in the country. Bubba Head started the seminar and held it during the Master’s golf tournament each year. It was taken over by the National College of DUI Defense and is currently held in New Orleans every spring. The Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers co-sponsors the seminar. Mimi has held the position of course director for well over ten years. She has fulfilled many roles at MSE beyond course directing. Mimi has spoken on topics as varied as fermentation in blood testing to breath test issues. Mimi has also served the roles as judge and defense lawyer in the mock trial. She enjoys bringing together technical scientific issues for the education of lawyers to better serve their clients.
